Entrepreneurship and inclusion: According to the World Bank “the Afghanistan National Peace and Development Framework as well as the newly drafted Afghanistan National Youth Policy identify youth entrepreneurship as a key driver of the economic inclusion, particularly for young women.” Afghan women enjoy to date an increased number of opportunities for their personal career development. Another group of Afghan youth that may be supported by the startup scene are Afghans returning from neighbouring countries in the region as well as the West. How can the Afghan startup scene prevent further brain drain as well as provide opportunities for returnees?

Thousands of young Afghans are aspiring to become entrepreneurs by opening their own small and medium sized enterprises and startups. In its latest Afghanistan Development Update, the World Bank stated that there is “an estimated 400,000 Afghans entering the labor market each year”.  Joel Ward Womens Jersey
